Brisbane South West Child and Family Support
Service Aim is to Provide:

• Responsive and Culturally appropriate advice to the Department in relation to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander children and young people

• Assistance and to ensure that children and young people subject to child protection
statutory intervention receive the best available culturally appropriate advice and
services.

• Aims to keep the children within the family network where ever possible

• Input into the Department's decision making process at all points of the child protection system including:

1. Intake
2. Investigation and assessments
3. Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect
(A member of SCAN)
4. Court Support/Court Process
5. Case Planning and management
6. Child Placement

The service will ensure that all the above meet the
requirements under The Child Protection Act 1999.
